Certified Translation of Official Documents Required by IRCC
In Canada, official documents that are not in French or English need to be translated in one of the two official languages. Certified translation is usually required by the government (notably for immigration), or by legal, financial or academic institutions.
For example, if you need to submit a document written in Chinese to IRCC or other immigration authorities, you may need to have your documents translated into English or French by a certified translator in Canada.
A certified translation is done by a certified translator that is a member of a professional association in Canada. The translated document includes a formal declaration attesting that the translation is faithful, accurate and complete to the best of the translator’s knowledge.
It is signed and bears an official stamp of the certified translator. The certified translator will attest that the certified translation is a true and accurate reproduction of the original document.
